Ever wondered why it seems as though the rich remain rich and the poor struggle for the bottom spot. Here’s why;
The average poor person isn’t poor because he’s unlucky or unfortunate. It’s because the mindset have built explosive membranes that fights off everything that contradicts what they know in a world where extravagance and sophistication is sometimes mistaken as wealth and riches.
Please note this “Poverty is a financial condition, being poor is a mental condition”.
Poverty is not only a state of being; it is a state of the mind. You are poor because you want to be poor, not because your parents were poor, or because you were born into a poor family.
Otherwise, if you are willing you can go up, only you are preventing yourself from going up.
Here are 8 Reasons why people always remain poor.
1. Lacking Financial Discipline
Being financially disciplined is one of the surest ways of getting rich. Being disciplined financially has nothing to do with how much you make as your income but being able to manage what you make and still put some aside, no matter how small.
You should be able to save some parts of your salaries and income and discipline yourself on your spendings.
2. Learning New things
Educating yourself, especially on matters, helps a lot and goes a long way to help you plan for your future.
There is a wealth of information out there that is just waiting for you, most of them free to access.
Always remember that formal education will make you a living while self-education will make a fortune for you.
3. You want Easy Money.
Actually, I’m pretty sure we all want easy money. Unfortunately, “easy money” doesn’t exist. You have to put in the effort, time, sweat, blood, tears, money, and sometimes your saliva to make money. I’m not saying you have to get rich NOW. Everything starts from small. What I’m saying is – it’s time to start NOW.
4. You Associate With The Wrong People
Does your family, friends, or co-workers encourage you to save money? Or do they always ask you to treat them for dinner? Do they always invite you to go to the club, eat in a fancy restaurant, and go shopping? Could it be that the reason why you’re still poor is that you’re in the company of people who’s income bracket is very far from yours?
You’ll get in trouble trying to live like your rich friends. Pay attention to how people around you behave when it comes to how they handle their money. There’s nothing wrong with going out every once in a while of course, but those who truly care for you will help remind you of your limitations as well.
5. You Feel Powerless
When you’re poor or in the middle of a financial hardship, it can make you feel powerless to do anything to change it. But giving in to those feelings of helplessness will only hurt you.
6. You Do Not Have Goals.
You can be confident and have all the conviction in the world, but if you do not have a plan of where you want to go and where you want to be in the next few years, you will remain poor. Likewise, if you have goals that are set too high and those that are set too low, you will get discouraged or bored in the process. Do not be average, but do not set your goals too high as you will soon abandon them.
7. Circle Of Like-minds (Supportive Network)
Your network determines your net worth, no joke, it’s very true. You can’t be mingling with lions as a cat and not get to confront hyenas. But, if you choose to mingle with dogs; eating excreta becomes a norm. The photograph of bill Gates and Aliko Dangote clearly screams so much wealth in one picture.
There is no such thing as getting rich quick. Financial success takes time, takes initiative, and requires relentless effort to achieve.
People who engage in gambling are deluded into thinking there is a shortcut to success. A lot of self-made millionaires today didn’t pursue any get-rich quick schemes. Instead, they make a habit of pursuing their dreams and their goals one after the other.
A lot of Nigerian youths believe so much in gambling that they made it a job. They have the believe that a single one hundred naira note can fetch them fifteen million naira. How long do intend on spending before you achieve that goal. Every known successful man today never earned their wealth from gambling.
