Bakayoko would prefer a permanent move away from Chelsea this summer
Tièmouè Bakayoko would like to return to AC Milan this summer as the French midfielder is not sure of getting a place in the Chelsea first team anymore. The player spent last season on loan at Napoli.
Chelsea signed Bakayoko from Monaco after the midfielder won the French Ligue 1 in 2017, but his time at Stamford Bridge has been nothing short of a disaster. He endured a torrid spell at Stamford Bridge in the 2017/18 season and was shipped on loan to AC Milan the following season.
Bakayoko was sent back to Monaco on loan in 2019 and he made 20 appearances for the club. He returned to Chelsea for preseason but went on another loan spell to Napoli where he impressed. He is currently on preseason with his parent club, Chelsea but he’s looking to depart the club on a permanent basis this summer.
The midfielder is not a priority at the club, but at the end of this summer window, he could be a target. Chelsea are also evaluating the situation and they see it as an option to extend his contract until June 2023 so as to get a good fee off his sale.
