Bayern Munich interested in signing Chelsea attacker
The German club are looking to strengthen their squad at the request of new headcoach Julen Nagglesman with the reigning Bundesliga champions having identified Chelsea striker Timo Werner as a major target.
Werner is reportedly unsettled at Chelsea following the blues public pursuit of Erling Haaland this as he feels he deserves more respect at the club having played a prominent part in their champions league win last season.
The Bundesliga giants are now looking to take advantage of the striker’s unrest at Chelsea as they look to add him to their ranks. Werner has previously played under Nagglesman at Rb Leipzig were he built a reputation as one of the most deadly finishers in the world.
The striker moved to Chelsea last summer for a fee worth up to €53 million, but has failed to justify his hefty price tag so far at the Stamford bridge staduim. The 25 year old is now in the danger of falling behind the pecking order should the club sign a new striker this summer.
The Bayern could now offer Werner an escape route back to Germany where he would reunite with Julen Nagglesman as the former stuggart man looks to maintain his spot in the German national team ahead of next year’s world cup.
