The Hornets promoted to the Premier League from the Championship last season under Xisco Muñoz and he also began this season with a 3-2 win over Aston Villa, but recent result has led to the sack of the Spanish manager.
In seven games in the Premier League this season, Watford won two, drew one and lost four which earned them seven points and 14th place on the log.
The Premier League side are yet to confirm the 41-year-old Spanish gaffer’s replacement, but will likely do that before the international break is over.
Watford released an official statement on their website on Sunday morning to confirm the sack of Spanish manager Xisco Muñoz
“Watford FC confirms Xisco Muñoz has left his post as the club’s Head Coach,” the club stated.
“The Board feels recent performances strongly indicate a negative trend at a time when team cohesion should be visibly improving. The Hornets will always be grateful to Xisco for the part he played in securing last season’s promotion and wish him well for his future career in football.
“No further club comment will be available until the imminent announcement of a new Head Coach.”
