Manchester United midfield dynamo Bruno Fernandes has been nominated for the Ballon D’or award. This will be the Portuguese international’s first ever nomination after a dominant performance at Old Trafford since he signed from Sporting CP.
The attacking midfielder is still yet to lose an away game in the Premier League for almost 3 years since his move to Manchester United. He will be hoping to be amongst the final top 10 in the list.
So far, the midfielder is the second top scorer for Manchester United under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with 44 goals scored so far and 30 assists to his name. This means that he has 74 direct goal contributions for Manchester United in just well over 18 months.
If United had won a major trophy last season, he would have absolutely been among the final top 3 players to win the award. But so far, he is not expected to win it. However, a nomination is an honour in itself.
