Chelsea close to agreeing £100 million deal for world class striker

Chelsea are close to agreeing a deal for Romelu Lukaku according to reports.

The blues are hot on the heels of the striker who has rejuvenated his career at the San Siro staduim after a difficult spell with Manchester united. Thomas Tuchel’s first choice was to sign Borussia Dortmund hotshot Erling Haaland, but a failure to reach an agreement with the German side has seen the former PSG coach instruct the club to turn their attentions to Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku.

Chelsea saw a bid in the excess of £85 million rejected by Inter Milan who value their prized asset to be worth £100 million above. The English side have now reopened talks with the reigning Serie A champions as they look to seal up a deal for the player.

Lukaku is also keen to join Chelsea this summer with the player having left the club prematurely in 2014. The Belgian has even reportedly agreed to personal terms with the blues with only an agreement with Inter Milan delaying an official announcement.

Lukaku would slot straight into Thomas Tuchel starting xi with the 28 year old having proved to be a world class finisher in recent years. The forward will want to prove himself at the Stamford bridge staduim having endured a failed spell from 2011 – 2014. His signing would end the pursuit of the blues chase of Erling Haaland while he would also dislodge Timo Werner as the number one striker at the club.

A deal for the forward is expected to be announced in the coming days with the player all set to become Thomas Tuchel’s first signing at the club.
