Haaland responds to ‘bids’
Erling Haaland has laughed off the reported bids amounting over £130m this summer. It comes as City retain an interest in the Borussia Dortmund star, who is also wanted by Chelsea and Manchester United. The Bundesliga club have insisted he is not for sale while Haaland dealt a further blow after breaking his silence amid the transfer furore. He said: “Before yesterday I haven’t spoken with my agent for one month. So you have the answer. I hope it’s only rumours because it’s a lot of money for a person.” City would love to sign Haaland but with exorbitant funds needed, they are eyeing a move for Kane further instead.
Reds ‘ready to pay’ for Saul
Liverpool have been strongly linked with Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul ever since his proposed move to Barcelona broke down. The Spanish international looks a potentially perfect replacement for Gini Wijnaldum, and would certainly tick a number of boxes for Klopp. With Manchester United and Chelsea also thought to be expressing interest in the 26-year-old, the Reds could well face fierce competition for his signature. But according to Spanish outlet Diario AS they have now decided that they are willing to meet Atletico’s £41m asking price. And given that the player himself has praised Liverpool in the past, agreeing personal terms should not be a problem if, indeed, an acceptable offer is made.
Atletico enter Lacazette race
After entering the final year of his contract, Alexandre Lacazette looks increasingly likely to depart Arsenal this summer. With Mikel Arteta now reportedly eyeing a move for Tammy Abraham, it appears that Lacazette’s time at the Emirates Stadium is up. The fact he will be available on a free transfer in only a year’s time may mean that bids will be lacking, but one club have emerged as a front-runner. According to Calciomercato, La Liga champions Atletico Madrid are eyeing a move for Lazacette as they look for back-up to Luis Suarez. Arsenal paid Lyon in the region of £46 million for the striker, but they will face a major loss on that deal, with Atletico only willing to offer £12m.
