Chelsea expected to hijack Man City target

Chelsea might take advantage of Tottenham’s interest in Kurt Zouma in order to capture Harry Kane ahead of Man City. Kane had previously been linked with a move to Chelsea, but this summer has been heavily connected with a move to the Premier League champions.

During the summer transfer window, the European champions were interested in adding a new striker.

A £150 million deal to sign Borrusia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland is doubtful.

Any move this summer would be futile, given that the Norwegian will be available for £65 million when his release clause kicks in next summer.

Chelsea could use Tottenham transfer interest to hijack Harry Kane’s Man City move

Spurs are interested in signing Chelsea centre defender Kurt Zouma, according to French writer Julien Maynard.

So why not take advantage of that interest and make a move for Harry Kane, a Premier League veteran?

It’s no surprise that Kane views himself as a future player for a team that will compete for the biggest honours in sport.

And, after defeating Man City in the Champions League final last season, taking Kane from under City’s noses before the new season would be a major blow to the Premier League champions.

Despite the heated rivalry between Chelsea and Spurs, Kane would benefit from a move to Stamford Bridge.

The 28-year-old and his family would not have to migrate because they could stay in London.

To pull the deal off, a Zouma plus cash swap would most likely be required, although Thomas Tuchel’s side will have plenty of cash on hand after not spending any money on transfers so far this summer.
