Chelsea has made the decision to release Danny Drinkwater from the club after his loan move to Reading runs out in June, according to the sun.
Drinkwater has struggled to make an impact at Chelsea since he joined from Leicester City in 2017 for £35million.
Even more disappointing for Chelsea supporters, however, is the lack of impact he has had on the current Champions League holders.
Danny appearance tally for Chelsea stands at a measly 23, less than half Timo Werner has achieved in just one campaign with the club.
Readings are back in Ligue 1 action on Saturday as QPR visit the Select Car Leasing Stadium, with Mark Warburton’s high-flying Hoops currently third in the second tier with 11 points from five games.
In contrast, the Royals are currently languishing in 21st position with just one win from their first five games of the campaign.
But reading coach Paunovic does have some new signings he could call upon this weekend, after former Crystal Palace defender Scott Dann signed for Reading before the transfer deadline, along with Chelsea loanees Drinkwater and Rahman.
