Chelsea midfielder linked with exit after just one season at the club
The Moroccan attacker has been linked with a transfer to AC Milan all through the summer, but after starring significantly in Chelsea’s pre-season, it was assumed that he would stay at the club, However, it is now understood that the Italian outfit are still interested in signing the midfielder and would try to bring him to San Siro on a loan deal, but it will be “very hard.” Last season, the 28-year-old joined Chelsea for £33.3 million from Dutch club AFC Ajax, as part of a £200 million spending spree by Chelsea to bolster their squad.
Ziyech had all the makings of a fantastic Chelsea signing, but injuries have prevented him from doing so. Last season, the Moroccan was injured in his first pre-season game, ruling him out for the start of the 2020/21 campaign. Last season, Ziyech made only 23 Premier League games, scoring two goals and providing three assists in the process. The Moroccan did, however, get some well-deserved vacation this summer, and after a fantastic pre-season, he delivered for the Blues in the UEFA Super Cup final in Belfast less than a week ago, scoring the game’s first goal. The midfielder, however, had a shoulder injury and has been ruled out for a few weeks.
