The Chelsea football club board is trying to negotiate contracts of some top players who have been crucial to Thomas Tuchel. 28 years old German defender Antonio Rudiger and Andrea Christensen are getting closer to the end of their current contracts with the Blues.
Negotiations to renew their contracts have reached rock bottom meaning the two players might leave on free transfers. These has made the board to act quick and narrow down who they will target to replace the two defenders who are likely to leave.
According to reliable journalist and transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea will try to sign Juventus and Netherlands star defender Mathijs de Ligt and Sevilla’s Jules Kounde next summer. The reporter stated that the two targets will be direct replacements of Antonio Rudiger and Andrea Christensen if they decided to leave the club.
However, the two young defenders won’t come on a cheap as they will cost Chelsea more than £150 million in transfer fees, as well as their wage demands will be very high to convince them to join the club. These deals will be worth every penny because of the players qualities.
