They are now three points behind Chelsea.
Arsenal battled to a 1-0 win against Watford on matchday 11 and this ensured they continued their impressive revival after an abject start to the season. The match was full of dramas as Bukayo Saka’s goal was overruled and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang missed a penalty in an entertaining first half. Emile Smith-Rowe, who has played a major role in Arsenal’s revival scored the decisive goal in the 56th-minute.
Chelsea was held to a disappointing 1-1 draw against Burnley in a match that Chelsea threw away their chance of extending their lead at the top of the table.
