Chelsea have agreed a deal in principle with Inter Milan for Romelu Lukaku last week, the deal is yet to be official because paperworks of the transfer haven’t been signed by both clubs and the player haven’t completed his medical at the club.
Chelsea will play Villarreal in the uefa super cup final in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on Wednesday night. Many Chelsea supporters will be expecting to see their new striker for the first time, after his sensational return to Stamford Bridge.
However, Chelsea have until 11pm on Tuesday night to register Romelu Lukaku for the SuperCup final or it will be too late for him to feature in the final.
Romelu Lukaku was part of the squad that lost the final in 2013 when Jose Mourinho was in charge, before his move to Everton in the premier league.
The Belgian will love to be part of Thomas Tuchel side against Villarreal, but that will solely depends on how fast the paperwork are signed and the club announcement as a new player in the squad.
Chelsea have a great squad and even without Lukaku in the side, Thomas Tuchel and his men should be able to beat Villarreal on Wednesday night in the Super Cup final. The likes of Timo Werner, Kai Havertz and Eduoard Mendy have all played in pre-season friendlies and are in great shape ahead of the final.
Thomas Tuchel will be clever with his selection, and if he goes with this lineup below, Chelsea will easily defeat Villarreal and Unai Emery.
GK: Eduoard Mendy
LCB: Antonio Rudiger
CB: Kurt Zouma
RCB: Malang Sarr
RWB: Callum Hudson-Odoi
LWB: Marcos Alonso
CMF: Mateo Kovacic
CMF: Ngolo Kante
RW: Hakim Ziyech
CF: Kai Havertz
LW: Timo Werner
This Chelsea side will be a tough side to beat by a team like Villarreal, if Thomas Tuchel uses this lineup on Wednesday.
