Lukaku completes Chelsea medicals, Messi’s Arrival at PSG may send Mbappe out because of fair pay rule
Lukaku Linked with Chelsea
Romelu Lukaku has completed his Chelsea medical in Milan and he will now fly to London to complete his £98 million ($136m) transfer from Inter.
The 28-year-old will rejoin Chelsea seven years after his departure for Everton in 2014.
The striker spent only one season at Chelsea before he was sent on loan in 2013 after he missed a penalty in the European Super Cup game between Chelsea and Atletico Madrid in August. He then spent two years at Manchester United before leaving for Inter.
According to Lukaku, he said his move to Chelsea was not motivated by money as he saw a move back to Stamford Bridge as his best option to continue winning silverware amid Inter’s financial crisis.
Lukaku will take home around £250,000 per week on a five-year contract until 2026.
It has been suggested that Financial Fair Play rules won’t allow PSG to register three global stars, but they are expecting UEFA to be more flexible due to the financial constraints caused by the coronavirus crisis.
Mbape is heavily linked with Real Madrid after entering the final year of his current deal with the World Cup winner yet to reach an agreement over a contract extension with PSG.
If UEFA fail to accept to PSG plea to register three global stars, then Mbape will be leaving if the deal with Messi go through.
