Man United, Liverpool And Other EPL Top Teams Who Suffered Losses In Their Preseason

Several Clubs in England have rounded up their preseason as the Premier League begins next weekend. Meanwhile, only four clubs among the top eight for last season have failed to finish their preseason unbeaten.

But Premier Champions Manchester City, Chelsea, West Ham United, and Tottenham are the four English teams among the top eight who failed to suffer a defeat in all their preseason games.

However, here are the four teams among last season’s top eight that didn’t finish their preseason games unbeaten:

Leicester City FC

The foxes finished fourth on the Premier League table last season and beat Chelsea to win the English FA Cup.

Even though they won the FA Charity Honour over Man City last Saturday, they are still among the top English teams who suffered defeats in their preseason games.

Leicester lost their first and second friendly games to Burton Albion (by 3-1 on penalties) and Wycombe Wanderers by 1-0. They drew Queen Park Rangers by 3-3 in the third game and won Villarreal by 3-2 in the fourth game which was their last friendly match.

Arsenal FC

A reminder that the Gunners had an awful season in Premier League last season when they finished eighth on the table.

It’s sad to see that the North London club is yet to get rid of last season’s problems as they failed to register at least a win in their summer preseason games.

Mikel Arteta men lost their first friendly game by 2-1 to Hibernian. They drew the second one by 2-2 against Rangers and lost the last two games to London rivals, Chelsea and Tottenham Hostpur.

Manchester United FC

The Red Devils finished second on the Premier League table last season and have signed two talented players in the ongoing transfer window, having secured Jadon Sancho from Dortmund and Raphael Varane from Real Madrid.

Out of their four summer-friendly games, Man United lost one, drawn one, and won two including their Saturday’s 4-0 win over Everton FC.

Liverpool FC

The Merseyside Red finished third on the Premier League table last term which was something spectacular despite having a tough season where they failed to defend their title.

However, Liverpool has won a game, lost one, and drew three out in their five preseason games this summer.
