Manchester City have won the battle to sign Femi Fapetu into their academy, according to a report from Raising Ballers.

 

The young Nigerian midfielder left Arsenal in the summer after turning out for their U14 in the 2020/2021 campaign.

According to reports, Manchester City are not the only team interested in the youngster after he left the Emirate Stadium.


Before signing for Manchester City, the young Nigerian midfielder trained with Manchester United and Liverpool but did not commit to both clubs.

Aside from training with both clubs, he was shown the facilities of the clubs to convince him to stay but he opted to sign for the Cityzens.

 

Fapetu is expected to join Manchester City U15 team ahead of the 2021/2022 season.

The talented and creative youngster is expected to develop at Manchester City due to the success of their youth teams.

Manchester City won the 2020/2021 U18 Premier League and started the season with a 3-0 victory over Manchester United over the weekend.

 

By leaving Arsenal, Femi Fapetu joined his brother Bayo in leaving the Emirate Stadium. Bayo joined Derby County on scholarship terms.
