Manchester United midfielder still wants to leave the club despite the sacking of Solskjaer
However, that is not quite going to plan just yet as Manchester United are currently occupying the 8th position on the Premier League table ahead of their next league match against Chelsea.
And ahead of their trip to Stamford Bridge, the Red Devils could now be rocked with reports that experienced attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard is still very much interested in leaving the club.
The 28-year-old England International, who has been at Manchester United since 2000 has struggled to break into the first-team squad over the previous seasons.
The attacking midfielder spent the 2020/2021 season on loan at West Ham United where he scored nine goals and created five assists in 19 appearances in all competitions.
However, Jesse Lingard returned to Manchester United during the summer and has since found regular playing time difficult to come by at the club.
Despite that, Jesse Lingard has scored two goals and created one assist in nine appearances for Manchester United so far this season.
Do remember that Jesse Lingard has less than one year left on his current contract at Manchester United and according to reports from Daily Mail, he is keen on leaving the club despite the dismissal of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as manager.
The reports further claimed that Jesse Lingard is not interested in signing a new contract at Manchester United and he is eyeing a move away when the transfer window opens.
That said, it remains to be seen if Manchester United will cash in on him in January or risk losing Jesse Lingard on a free transfer when his contract expires next summer.
