Manchester United Player Proves He Belongs In The Starting XI After A Brilliant Performance
After a superb first half, Ole Gunnar was beaten 4-2 by Queens Park Rangers in his second pre-season encounter. The men of Ole Gunnar won their first pre-season friendly against Derby County, but they couldn’t make it two in a row yesterday.
Jesse Lingard gave Manchester United the lead three minutes after the game began, but Charlie Austin equalized for QPR three minutes later. Rangers went on to score three goals in the second half, allowing them to win by such a large margin.
Lyndon Dykes scored a brace while Moses Odubajo scored one of the three goals. United equalized by Anthony Elanga, making the game a 4-2 thriller. The Red Devils will return to action on Wednesday when they host Brentford at Old Trafford.
United didn’t play particularly well during the game, although Jesse Lingard, who scored the game’s first goal, put up a strong showing in the first half. After being loaned to West Ham from January till the end of the season, the 28-year-old put in a strong performance for the Red Devils.
Lingard showed why Ole Gunnar called him back to Old Trafford following a good performance yesterday that could see him get more playing time than he did last season before being sent out. The majority of the club’s followers believed the star had reached the end of his career and that he was going through a difficult time.
Sancho joined United this summer, and while certain players’ minutes may be limited, Jesse Lingard, who can play as a winger or an attacking midfielder, will provide competition for Sancho in that position.
Mason Greenwood has done well on the right wing, but he is more comfortable as a striker, which is his natural position. Sancho is a fantastic young forward with a lot of potential, but Lingard has more experience and works hard to bring his best game to the table.
