Manchester United ready to sign £58million Serie A star as replacement for Pogba. Player has an agreement with Serie A club to join Manchester United.
According to Italian media outlet Calciomercato via Daily Mail, Manchester United are leading the race to sign Lazio’s star midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
The Red Devils have long been linked with the Serbia international and are now ready to sign him as a replacement for Paul Pogba, who has stalled on extending his Manchester United contract.
The Lazio midfielder is valued at £58million and is also wanted by Juventus.
The report goes on to suggest that there is an ‘informal agreement’ between Lazio owner Claudio Lotito and Kezman over selling the midfielder to United.
Milinkovic-Savic has scored 44 goals and registered 37 assists in 213 Serie A appearances, which has seen him become one of the best midfielders in the Italian league.
Meanwhile, Pogba has dismissed reports he has been offered a mammoth £500,000-a-week deal to remain at the club.
A spokesman for Pogba has denied the reports claiming the midfielder has been offered a new contract by Manchester United and insists there have been no new talks with the club since negotiations broke down months ago.
Pogba has been out of action since the last international break in November with a thigh injury.
