NIG 1-0 EGY: 3 Best And 3 Worst Players From Today’s Game As Iheanacho Outshines Mo Salah in AFCON
1. Mo Salah.
The Egyptian winger was arguably the worst player for Egypt in their game against Nigeria today. Mo Salah started as the striker for his team but he had little influence in today’s game. Kenneth Omeruo man marked him throughout the 90 minutes and he barely had a sniff at goal. A poor performance from one of the best African players at the moment.
2. Omar Marmoush.
He partnered Mo Salah upfront for the Egyptians and he also had a poor performance. Ola Aina kept a close eye on him in the game so he had little space to operate on the wings for his team. The one time he had a chance to score for his team, he completely missed the target.
3. Ahmed Fatouh.
The Egyptian defender had a tough time against Kelechi Iheanacho today. The Leicester city man was too smooth and clever with his movements that Fatouh was caught out of position time and time again. He seriously needs to work on himself defensively.
1. Kelechi Iheanacho.
The man who made things happen for Nigeria today against Egypt. Mo Salah might be the best player in the Premier League, but when it comes to African football, Kelechi Iheanacho continues to outshine him. With performances like this, he can easily guide Nigeria to the title come next month.
2. Joe Aribo.
He played like prime Kante in midfield for the Super Eagles today. His hold up play was excellent, passing was crisp and he created a bunch of chances for his teammates. He also helped keep Mo Salah quiet in the game for his team.
3. Ola Aina.
The Nigerian left back showed why he was rated as one of the best products to come out of Chelsea’s academy in today’s game. He completely dominated the left wing and showed great composure each time he got forward for his team. His linkup play with Chukwueze was top notch as well.
Other players like Moses Simon and Ndidi put in wonderful performances as well
