Official: Arsenal Midfielder Signs New Deal Till 2025
Granit Xhaka has signed a new agreement for Arsenal Midfielder with the club that will see him stay until 2025.
It comes as a late twist to the London club that agreed to leave the Swiss skipper this summer. Xhaka was subject to the Italian club AS Roma, which submitted a bid worth 13 million pounds.
However, the value was short of what Arsenal hoped was and they chose to extend their stay to the player who joined the club in 2016.
It is also rumored that his compensation has been enhanced. Xhaka played at the loss of Arsenal’s opening day in Brentford on Friday and was also captain in the absence of Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre Aubameyang.
The attacking combo failed to match due to disease, but rumors say they can be fishing for transfers from Arsenal. Both are linked to moves into Barcelona’s Spanish Club that seek to replace the goals lost as star player Lionel Messi moved to PSG last week.
With little less than two weeks left to close the summer transfer window, Arsenal needs to move fast to avoid repeating last season, when unprepared to start the season to finish 8th for the second year running in the league standings.
