The Blues missed several chances during the game. They failed to convert clear-cut opportunities and were left frustrated. The Blues seems to be repeating one mistake in their recent matches.

Failure To Hold Unto Lead

Chelsea had the lead in their recent premier league games but ended up conceding shortly after.

Mason Mount gave Chelsea the lead in the 71 minutes of the game with a perfect finish. The lead lasted just four minutes before Chelsea conceded from a set-piece. Everton Jarrad Branthwaite leveled from a set-piece in the 74th minutes of the match. Chelsea conceded four minutes after breaking the deadlock. (See photo below)

The Blues made the same mistake during West Ham United vs Chelsea match which ended in a catastrophe. Chelsea failed to hold onto the lead twice in the match. The inability to hold onto the lead resulted in a heavy defeat during the trip to the London stadium.

The same mistake was also repeated in the Champions League match vs Zenit St. Petersburg. Timo Werner gave Chelsea the lead in the 85th minute of the match but Chelsea conceded just five minutes after Ozdoyev’s superb finish. (Photo below)

The inability to hold onto the lead has cost Chelsea many games this season. Chelsea conceding four minutes after breaking the deadlock from Mason Mount’s goal shows they haven’t solved the issue.

Chelsea lack concentration in recent matches.
