Christensen, Zouma will struggle to play in Chelsea’s first-team as Chalobah keeps rising
Chelsea is one of the football teams in the world that has a very active youth system that is producing some wonderful young players. Following the rise of Chalobah from Chelsea’s youth team, Zouma and Christensen will struggle to play in Chelsea’s first team this season.

Before the start of the 2021/22 season, Zouma and Christensen had already lost their starting position in the Chelsea lineup because Rudiger and Silva had been performing well for Chelsea. Thomas Tuchel prefers to play Silva and Rudiger in Chelsea’s defense.
Although Rudiger and Silva were the favorites to start most Chelsea games in the 2020/21 season, Zouma and Christensen manage to get some game time as well. However, considering the emergence of Chalobah in Chelsea’s defense, it is difficult to see Zouma and Christensen playing first-team football in Chelsea this season.

As soon as Silva returns to full fitness, he will retain his position in Chelsea’s defense and he will partner with Rudiger. Chalobah will get some game time if he continues to play good football. Tuchel loves to play 3:5:2 formation and he will start most games with three central defenders which means that Rudiger, Silva, and Chalobah will play together in Chelsea’s defense.

Zouma and Christensen will have to settle for the less important matches like some FA Cup matches or League Cup matches. Chalobah has proven that he has the guts to play in the Premier League and Chelsea looks very solid in the defense anytime Chalobah plays for them. Chalobah’s beautiful goal against Crystal Palace is proof that he can score goals as well. Chalobah is Chelsea’s future while Christensen and Zouma’s Chelsea careers seem to be fading away.
