PSG Expect Mbappe To Stay – Leonardo

Leonardo, the sporting director of Paris Saint-Germain, does not expect Kylian Mbappe to leave the club at the conclusion of the season and believes the France forward will sign a new contract.

Mbappe is free to sign a pre-contract deal with another club in January after his contract expires in June 2022.

During the transfer window, Real Madrid made a £137 million bid for him.

Leonardo told Canal Plus, “I don’t think anyone here sees the future without him.”

“Kylian isn’t going anywhere at the end of the season, in my opinion. Mbappe has a strong bond with PSG.”

Real’s rumored second bid “never arrived,” and Leonardo said the club was “not happy” with the Spanish club’s behavior.

He went on to say, “We were clear about the offer they made.” “From our perspective, it wasn’t enough.

“The only thing that could have happened was for him to stay. We never considered doing anything without Kylian.”

Mbappe, a World Cup champion who joined PSG in 2017 for £166 million from Monaco, has won three Ligue 1 titles and three French Cups with the club, as well as helping them reach their first Champions League final.

He has four goals in the first five games of the 2021-22 Ligue 1 season and will lead PSG’s Champions League push alongside Lionel Messi and Neymar, who joined from Barcelona last month.
