REPORTS: Chelsea Keen On Eden Hazard
Chelsea intends to re-sign Eden Hazard from Real Madrid, according to sources from El Nacional. Roman Abramovich, the club’s owner, is said to still hold high regard for the player and believes that a return to the Premier League will help him regain his confidence.
According to reports, Chelsea has already started initial conversations with Florentino Perez about Hazard’s return. Real Madrid is reportedly willing to let the Belgian go in order to recoup some of the €115 million they paid on him two seasons ago. Los Blancos are in desperate need of cash as they prepare to overhaul their attacking unit next summer by signing Kylian Mbappe. They’ve expressed interest in both the Frenchman and Erling Haaland, the Borussia Dortmund superstar who is expected to cost a fortune.
Hazard, who arrived from England in 2019 but has yet to make an impact in Spain, might be offloaded there. Injuries and a lack of form have hampered his stay at the Bernabeu, with the Belgian playing just over 1,500 minutes of league action in the last two seasons. Hazard has only been involved in 14 goals in 51 games, which is a low number for a player of his caliber. Chelsea, on the other hand, isn’t deterred from adding further offensive reinforcements to the team.
