The Red Devils are keen on winning their first major trophy under the management of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and have completed the signings of several players including Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho to bolster their squad.
However, that has not quite turned out as planned as Manchester United are currently lying in fourth position after dropping points against Everton in their final match before the ongoing international break.
And due to that, it is believed that manager Ole Gunnar is chasing more attacking options and he is seemingly interested in a move for Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele when the transfer window opens.
The 24-year-old France International, who joined Barcelona after leaving Borussia Dortmund in 2017 has been in and out of the first-team squad since he made the move.
The young midfielder has struggled with varying injuries since he joined Barcelona which has limited his regular playing opportunities at the LaLiga club.
However, Ousmane Dembele was quite impressive in the 2020/2021 season where he scored 11 goals and registered five assists in 44 appearances in all competitions.
And even though, the young forward is currently nurning an injury and he is yet to make any appearance this season, he is still not short of suitors.
According to reports from The Sun, Premier League giants Manchester United are keen on adding Ousmane Dembele to their star-studded squad to in order to improve their attacking options.
The young winger has less than a year left on his current contract with Barcelona and due to his refusal to sign a new one, Manchester United are ready to capitalise on that opportunity.
However, the reports further claimed that Manchester United are not the only club interested in him, as they face competition from fellow Premier League side Liverpool who are also monitoring his situation.
That said, it remains to be seen if Ousmane Dembele will have a change of heart and commit his future to Barcelona or switch to the Premier League to play for either Manchester United or Liverpool.
