The Old Trafford side want to challenge the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea this season and have added some players to bolster their squad.
However, that is quite working out well for Manchester United so far as they are currently in 5th position on the Premier League table ahead of their next Premier league match against Manchester City on Saturday.
And now, if reports are anything to go by then Manchester United are interested in a move for Manchester City young striker James McAtee when the transfer window opens.
The 19-year-old England International, who joined Manchester City in 2013 has been impressive before earning his full first-team debut in September 2021.
The young centre-forward had an interesting 2020/2021 season where he scored nine goals and provided 14 assists in 28 appearances in all competitions, most of them coming in the Premier League 2.
James McAtee has also enjoyed a flying start to the 2021/2022 season, scoring 15 goals and three assists in 15 appearances for Manchester City.
But then, James McAtee has less than two years left on his contract with Manchester City and according to reports from The Sun, Manchester United are looking to sign him when the transfer window opens.
The reports further claimed that Manchester United want to further strengthen their attacking options and are keen on bringing James McAtee to Old Trafford next year.
That said, it remains to be seen if James McAtee will continue his developments at Manchester City or he will be tempted with a move to arch-rivals Manchester United when the window opens.
