Stats proving why Cristiano Ronaldo deserves the Cristiano Ronaldo GOAT title
Cristiano Ronaldo is not the greatest footballer of all time, I agree. But the thing is, you can never claim one single player to be the greatest of all time, because for every generation, the game is different, the players are different, teams are different, strategies are different, and the hurdles the players have to overcome are different. So declaring a one player to be the greatest of all time will be a huge mistake.
But you have to agree with me on this one, Cristiano Ronaldo is an absolute beast on pitch. He is undoubtedly one of the greatest of all time, and the stats will prove my words.
Let’s just look at the number of appearances and goals:
He has scored scored 643 goals in 856 matches in club level football.
A total of 119 goals in 201 international matches(friendly matches included).
Now this proves 2 things, one is his ability to score goals, which is pretty evident, and the other is his fitness. Fitness how? Well he has played 1055 matches in 18 years, you have to be hella fit to do that…
Now let’s talk about his records:
Highest goals(130 and counting) and assists(40 and counting) of all time in the history of UCL.
5 Ballons d’Or and 4 European Golden shoes, both of them being a record for a European player.
Only the 2nd player of all times, and the 1st European to score 100+ goals in international football.
4th highest goalscorer in the history of football, with 762 recorded goals, and he is still playing, so it’s expected that he’ll top the list before retiring.
If I wanna talk about him, I could go on and on, but I don’t think that’s necessary. The big deal about Cristiano Ronaldo is that he is Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the greatest footballers to ever touch that leather sphere, a beast on pitch, a guy who rose from nothing, and nailed and scratched through his way to the top, a goalmachine who never rests, a leader. He is just flesh and blood like the rest of us, it’s his hardwork that makes him Cristiano Ronaldo.
Oh and in case you forgot, he is 36 years old, and this, was him just 3 years back (April 4, 2018):
7 ft 7 inches from the ground, people struggle to head balls at that height, and he is bicycle kicking them.
I hope you understood what’s the big deal about him, and if you haven’t, then watch some of his matches, I can assure you that you won’t have any doubt anymore.
