Super Eagles of Nigeria midfielder Frank Onyeka started life in the English Premier League with a remarkable victory over Arsenal football club, as he played a vital role in ‘the Bees’ first win in the English top flight league since 1947.
The former FC Midtjylland star would not have asked for a better English Premier League debut for Brentford FC, as he played a decent 80 minutes against the Gunners.
The Nigerian international was bought for an undisclosed fee few weeks ago, and he has been exceptional for the team since making his debut in preseason.
Onyeka is a natural defensive midfielder but coach Frank Thomas decided to play the Nigerian in more defensive role against the Gunners and he was able to impress in the game.
The 23 years old had Brentford FC first shot of the game in the 10th minutes, but his effort to find the back of the net was not successful, as his shot went over the bar.
The Nigerian international started in his team’s midfield alongside Christian Norgaard and Vitaly Janelt and Onyeka was superb as he made a lot of passes, created many chances for his team and he did his best to guide his team to a convincing victory.
Goals from Spain star Sergi Canos and Christian Norgaard were enough to give the Bees a deserved victory over Arsenal FC, and that gave them the opportunity to move to the top spot of the English Premier League table.
