There Is No Need For Erling Haaland, Chelsea Already Have A Perfect Number 9
The new football season is just around the corner and Chelsea is yet to make any official incoming deal ahead of the new campaign. All summer long, the Blues have been in chase of Erling Haaland, a player who the fans believe is the solution to their attacking deficiency. Last season, Chelsea suffered majorly in the attacking department and the search for a good striker is top on Thomas Tuchel’s list.
With all the speculations hovering about Erling Haaland and the price tag on him, I think that Chelsea cannot get him this season. Even Haaland himself came out a few days to question the amount he’s worth on social media. So instead of focusing all energy on a lost cause, I think it’s high time Chelsea look for contingency.
Armando Broja is the perfect number 9 who can fulfil the wants of both the Chelsea coach and fans. The youngster is already on the club’s book so no need to splash the cash. Broja has proved he has what it takes to lead the Chelsea line.
In the three pre-season friendlies played so far he has been on the scoresheet thrice, also providing an assist. Clinical and productive – just what Chelsea needs from an attacker. He spent last season in the Dutch league and got double digits of goals.
Who says Armando Broja cannot be Chelsea’s Erling Haaland? He’s got Diego Costa’s agility and tenacity, good pace and is a good finisher both in the air and on the ground. He only needs to be given the platform to showcase his potentials. Instead of splashing out millions on Haaland, Chelsea should go in search of a creative midfielder who will supply Broja the chances to score as many goals as possible.
