Three Nigeria Stars Who Could Be Affected If Ademola Lookman Is Included As A Super Eagles Player
Super Eagles technical crew have reportedly told RB Leipzig’s winger Ademola Lookman that he will get guaranteed football at the three-time African champions.
According to a top official of the team, Gernot Rohr is willing to make Lookman a permanent fixture in his Super Eagles starting eleven should his international paperwork is approved by FIFA.
Any decision to automatically make the tricky forward a regular starter in the side could have a knock-on effect on players already in the squad, notably: Moses Simon, Ahmed Musa and Henry Onyekuru.
All three, who are predominantly wingers, would feel the presence of Lookman in the squad as he is a direct threat to their game time and importance to the team.
Musa is the captain of the team but his place has been under threat since 2019.
Simon has been in and out of the team and more competition would only mean it would be even harder for him to claim a starting role. If Rohr was to put more faith in the Nantes man it would ultimately mean the move for Lookman wouldn’t be needed, so it does bring into question just how much faith Rohr has in his ability.
