Chelsea have already had two bids rejected for the 28-year-old but are now expected to succeed with a third offer in excess of £100 million. Lukaku has spent the summer saying he wants to stay at the San Siro, even after the departure of influential coach Antonio Conte in May. But it is understood he has been persuaded to have a change of heart, with Chelsea readying a huge contract offer. Sources have told The Athletic that Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel is a huge admirer of the striker, and his presence has also been a significant factor in Lukaku wanting to move back to the west London club.

Aston Villa have completed the signing of Danny Ings, the club announced. The striker has signed a three-year deal with the club as he makes the move from Southampton, where he scored 13 goals in all competitions last season. I am delighted to welcome Danny to our great Club.
Arsenal ‘planning double swoop for two Sheffield players
Arsenal are set to be considering a double-raid on Sheffield United for goal-keeper Aaron Ramsdale and midfielder Sander Berge. Mikel Arteta has been chasing Ramsdale for some time, but his interest has re-emerged in Berge after unofficial talks seemed to cool off earlier this year, according to The Star. The Gunners are thought to be baulking at the Blades’ £40 million demand for Ramsdale, believing an offer of £30m is more appropriate, but United are not moving.
