UEFA AWARDS: Thomas Tuchel and Three Chelsea Players Win Individual Honours In Monaco

The West London based club Chelsea were crowned champions of Europe after they got an hard-fought victory over Manchester in the UEFA Champions League final.

One week ago, the UEFA board members announced the nominees for different positions on the pitch based on their performance in the UEFA Champions League.

The likes of Kelvin De Bruyne, Ngolo Kante, Jorginho, Edouard Mendy, Thibaut Courtois, Ederson Moares, Robert Lewandowski, Kylian Mbappe, Ruben Dias, Antonio Rudiger, Cesar Azpilecuta and Erling Braut Halland were all nominated in their respective positions.

In todays award, Three Chelsea players won individual awards due to their incredible success in the UEFA Champions League.

Let’s take a look at the three Chelsea players that won Individual Honours In Monaco;

1. EDOUARD MENDY: The Senegalese and Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy was named UEFA Champions League goalkeeper of the season for his incredible performance in the competition.


The 26 years old Senegalese goalkeeper kept nine clean sheets in twelve appearances for Chelsea.

2. RUBEN DIAS: The Portuguese and Manchester City center back Ruben Dias was named UEFA Champions League defender of the season for his brilliant performance in the competition.

3. NGOLO KANTE: The France and Chelsea defensive Midfielder Ngolo Kante was named UEFA Champions League Midfielder of the season for his brilliant performance in the competition.

The 30 years old Chelsea Midfielder was instrumental for his team as they emerged victorious in the UEFA Champions League.

4. ERLING BRAUT HAALAND: The Norwegian and Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland was named UEFA Champions League Forward of the season for his brilliant performance in the competition.

The 21 years old Norwegian Striker scored ten goals in eight appearances for Borussia Dortmund.

5. THOMAS TUCHELThe German and Chelsea Head coach Thomas Tuchel was named UEFA Men’s Coach of the year for winning the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Super Cup.

6. JORGINHO: The Italy and Chelsea Midfielder Jorginho was named UEFA Men’s player of the year for his brilliant performance for both club and country.

The 28 years old Italy Midfielder was instrumental for his club and country as they emerged victorious in their respective European competitions.
