Manchester United’s 4-2 loss to Leicester City yesterday afternoon has added to the growing call for the club manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, to be relieved of his job.

This is not the first time the 48 years old Norwegian manager is facing questions about his long term future at Manchester United after a defeat. His time at the club has been fraught with a lot of inconsistency, which has led to suggestions that a new manager is needed to take the club forward.

The Manchester United fan base has seen what a new manager can do at a struggling club by looking at the impact of Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea, and they probably want the same thing at their club. Tuchel has led what was once a struggling Chelsea squad to their second Champions League trophy in just over seven months at the club, and they are currently the favourite to win this season’s Premier League title.

While Manchester United fans are right to ask for a new manager that will help them compete against the likes of chelsea and Liverpool for the Premier League title, it is worth noting that their club is not as ruthless as Chelsea when it comes to making decisions regarding the future of their manager.

Manchester United is a club owned by many individuals since the death of their former owner, Malcolm Glazer. The club is currently being run by the six children of the late Malcolm Glazer and a board of directors.

The six children of Malcolm Glazer, Avram, Bryan, Kevin, Edward, Darcie and Joel, are said to own equal shares at Manchester United, which means they need to agree before any decision is made about the future of the manager. The board of directors are also involved in the day to day running of the club.

At Chelsea, decisions are made by one man. Roman Abramovich owns and finances the club. He has entrusted the day to day running of the club under the care of a certain Marina Granovskaia, but his opinion is needed before critical decisions are made.
