On Tuesday morning, it was all smiling at PSG’s training facility, with photos of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, and Neymar exercising together going viral on social media.

No one anticipated seeing these three world-class athletes on the same squad before last week. Due to Barcelona’s massive debts, they were unable to finance Messi, allowing PSG to rush in and grab him on a free transfer.

The six-time Ballon d’Or winner may make his debut against Brest on Friday, marking the first time the world-class strike force has played together.

However, just because PSG has the strongest frontline in the league does not mean they will be successful. Football is a team sport, thus their defense and midfield must be equally capable for them to achieve their goals.

Egos and the tough choice of whether or not to compromise

The Ligue 1 heavyweights are anxious to win the UEFA Champions League, and their most recent purchases indicate that they aren’t ready to give up yet.

While they have a roster capable of conquering Europe, certain players will have to make sacrifices for the team’s benefit. Who would those players be on a squad consisting of world-class stars?

Messi, Neymar, and Mbappe all thrive on scoring goals, and this season, each will be pushing for new heights. Who, on the other hand, would take the free kicks and penalties and sit in the back seat?

Who would choose to sacrifice when each of them is a great player in their own right? Things may work out nicely if Mauricio Pochettino can get everyone on the same page. However, if their egos take precedence over the team’s goals, PSG’s growth may be stifled.

The team’s equilibrium at PSG might be jeopardized.

Pochettino has a fantastic team, but finding the correct balance will be his toughest task. At the same time, the Argentine manager must get Messi, Neymar, and Mbappe to deliver on the other end.

The aforementioned three players will undoubtedly be starters, but the remaining seven outfield players must strike the appropriate balance to keep the club competitive.

In football, a well-balanced squad is more likely to succeed than one with a plethora of excellent players. Pochettino’s handling of Messi, Neymar, and Mbappe might lead to PSG becoming the latter.
